Guluyambi Wet Season Tour & Cruise

The wet season produces some absolutely magnificent scenery in the Territory’s Top End.

This is the time of the year our Wetlands flood. In Kakadu the flooding cuts off the road access to Ubirr Rock, an icon of the World Heritage-listed National Park. Kakadu Cultural Tours operates the Ubirr Combo Tour that over comes this access issue.

The Ubirr Combo Tour collects clients in customised 4WD vehicles from Jabiru based accommodation and heads out to the East Alligator River district through the flooded Magela Creek. Once you arrive at the creek you are transferred onto a waiting Guluyambi Cultural Cruise. Expert Aboriginal guides will provide guests with an insight into local Aboriginal mythology, traditional uses for many plants and animals as well as bush survival skills required for this wilderness environment.

After departing the cruise you’ll head to the nearby Ubirr Rock Complex, where you’ll take in some of its ancient rock art sites and experience the views from the lookout before heading back across the flooded Magela Creek to Jabiru.

Tour Includes:

  • Wet Season Access to Ubirr Rock
  • World Heritage Land & Culture
  • Breathtaking Scenery
  • Experienced Aboriginal Guides
  • Traditional Survival Skills
  • Shuttle bus collects from all Jabiru commercial accommodation
  • Small Groups – Personal Experience
  • Ice water, fruit juice & healthy snack provided

Wet Season Notice

Magela Crossing Wet Season

Kakadu Cultural Tours intend operating our Ubirr Combo Tour in 2021. Note however we are completely at the mercy of the environment with this particular product. As we require sufficient water levels in the Magela Creek in order to operate.

For this reason we don’t generally sell the tour well in advance.

Tentative bookings for the Ubirr Combo Tour can be made on the condition the clients ring and confirm the booking 7 days out.
